OK ITS SUNDAY!

So its Sunday, and I'm making the most of one of the two days we get given off a week (grr to the five day working week!) As soon as the rain chucked me back in to the house after some much needed gardening (for me rather than the garden).
My partner was busy planning his exit from his nine to five so I decided to look at the cook book my neighbour gave me a couple of weeks ago, BOURBONS! I never really thought about making the bog standard shop bought biscuit before, why the hell not? it was really easy! They would make a great gift for a biscuit lover too.

I made these whilst listening to The Death Set
 

By the time I had finished it was sunny, time to go back in the garden, A cup of tea a biscuit and some thoughts on weather my friend has had her babi yet.

I got these at a carboot yesterday, not sure what to do with the stamps yet and the tin well I have a thing about tins.

HELP FROM THE CAT?!

So this lovely weird weathered Sunday I thought I'd get my long put off sewing project underway, as I thought soon enough I was getting highly Irritated with my sewing machine!
Either she was bored, curious or just wanting some attention my cat decided she would join me, Id given up so she decided to have a go.
This turned it to a bit of a photo shoot.
















She really gets in to it and although she was no help at all I thoroughly enjoyed taking theses pics. After all that hard work she is asleep.

CANT BELIVE I MISSED THIS!

I've not blogged for a while so bear with me.
It was only a few days ago that I was introduced to the great work of artist HUNDERTWASSER. Kellie from Its the little things (http://www.jelliebean76.blogspot.com/)
left a comment on a picture I had posted of some wrapping paper that I'm working on saying that it reminded her of the work of HUNDERTWASSER





I cant believe that I have never come across his work before! This is for anyone else who might of missed it, the next time I go to a book shop I'm gonna keep a look out for a nice book of his work.




I could easly live in a building like this!













Simply amazing! totally inspired me to draw more, I intend to look at much more of this guys work. I hope that if for some reason if you haven't seen this work before you like it as much as I do!

BLOWING EGGS

I've not blogged since Christmas! its about time I said hello again, so thought I might give a little crafty lesson.
My Mum taught me how to do this when I was little, I seem to remember it being much harder, maybe its because I had smaller cheeks back then who knows.

This is a nice thing to do over Easter, paint eggs, decorate them with pretty things, I'm just going to show you how to empty your eggs without cracking them.





STEP 1. The things you need - an egg or two, an egg cup or something similar to hold egg up,a needle, something to tap the needle like a knife nothing too big or you might end up smashing the egg, and a bowl to empty the contents of the egg in too.




STEP 2. Place your egg in the cup - then get your needle and make a hole in the top of your egg i say the smaller end of the egg is best but it doesn't matter, this only needs to be a pin hole!





STEP 3. Turn your egg upside down - now do the same on the bottom of the egg, this time the hole needs to be bigger only slightly though mind, do about 3 small holes close to each other then join them together.







STEP 4. Pick up your egg - now with the small hole at the top and the bigger hole at the bottom, and the bowl under your egg blow in to the hole, you may need to clear the bigger hole out slightly if nothing comes out. The bigger the hole the easier it come out its just you don't want a big hole at the bottom of your egg.





STEP 5. You can feel when your egg is empty and nothing more is coming out, i would now get a bit of water in to your egg and slosh it around then blow out the water so your egg is clean.






STEP 6. leave your now empty egg to dry and paint as you wish.

FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW (PROBABLY A LOT LONGER) I HAVE BEEN THINKING I WANT TO GET SOME PERSONALIZED TAPE.THEN WHEN I OPENED UP MY SHOP IN MARCH I THOUGHT OOO I CAN GET SOME HAVE A THING ABOUT ME TAPE - I LIKE MASKING TAPE THE BEST, BUT I CANT SEEM TO FIND ANYWHERE THAT DOES PERSONALIZED MASKING TAPE AND THE OTHER BIG PLASTIC PACKING TYPE TAPE YOU CAN GET DONE, BUT ONLY IF YOU GET A BIG BULK LOAD OF THE STUFF.



I HAVE NOW BECOME VERY OBSESSED WITH THIS STUFF THOUGH - JAPANESE MASKING TAPE
I'M SLOWLY BUILDING UP A FINE COLLECTION OF IT!






SO A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO I WALK IN TO WORK, ON MY WAY UP THE STAIRS I NOTICE A LITTLE PILE OF PERSONALIZED TAPE HOW VERY EXCITING! NOT ONLY WAS IT FUN TAPE BUT IT WAS ROB RYAN TAPE MY SLIGHT OBSESSION WITH TAPE AND MY SLIGHT OBSESSION WITH ROB RYAN ALL ROLLED IN TO ONE, HOW GREAT. SAID TAPE IS CURRENTLY HIDDEN AT WORK SO'S NOT TO GET WASTED.






I HAVE SLOWLY DISCOVERED A WORLD OF GREAT TAPES. AND I'M PRETTY SURE YOU CAN GET ALL OF THESE TAPES ON ETSY. I'M ALSO PRETTY SURE I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON OBSESSED WITH TAPE OUT THERE, ENJOY!
